How I lead and show up for people
Leadership, to me, means showing up consistently for communities I care about, whether that is mentoring girls through Relvox, building spaces for underrepresented students in tech through NSBE and WiCyS, or supporting my peers through philanthropy work at Berea. These roles all come back to the same idea: opportunity multiplies when someone opens the door for you, and you turn around to open it for someone else.
An inclusive organization for women and youth empowerment in Niger. Since founding it, I have directed a team of 10 young women delivering programs to over 100 participants through summer camps and community initiatives, including mentorship programs, safe spaces, career development resources, and networking opportunities for girls and local youth.
Changemakers Council Member
Analyzed data on child marriage and helped design the selection criteria for the Changemakers grant, worth nearly $1M in its first year, and helped decide which organizations to fund. Represented the council at the Women Deliver 2023 partners meetup and the AWID International Forum in Thailand.
Translator, Organizer, Volunteer, Peer Mentor
Volunteered in organizing a leadership and mentorship camp for girls. Mentored younger girls in leadership development and goal setting. Provided informal English-to-French translation and represented the organization at Women Deliver 2023 and the 10th African Conference on Sexual Health and Rights.
Alumni Ambassador
Conducted 9 finalist interviews and info sessions at 4 high schools in Niger, generating 70 applications to ALA and Rise, with sessions delivered in both French and English.
